The NFL handed Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Jerramy Stevens a two-game suspension without pay for violating the league’s substance abuse policy on Wednesday. Stevens, who was also fined an additional game check, will serve his suspension during the first two weeks of the 2008 season.  Stevens signed with Tampa Bay in April 2007 following his release from the Seattle Seahawks, which stemmed from his arrest from driving under the influence and possession of marijuana. As reported by ESPN: The former first-round draft pick was convicted of DUI in September and served a one-game suspension and was fined an additional game check for the marijuana offense. The latest suspension stems from the DUI portion of the case. The league added that any additional violations between now and the start of the season would result in an additional game suspension.  Stevens spent the first five seasons of his career with Seattle, after being drafted 28th overall in 2002. Last season for Tampa Bay, Stevens earned $602,400 and had 18 receptions for 189 yards and four touchdowns. Over the course of his six-year career, Stevens has earned nearly $7 million in base salary and bonuses. OTHER NEWS ACROSS THE BUSINESS OF SPORTS NETWORK
