Report: Dungy to Step Down as Coach of Colts PDF Print E-mail

Tony DungyThe Tony Dungy era is done in Indianapolis, according to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com.

The Colts have scheduled a 5 p.m. press conference to make the announcement, and according to the report, Dungy is making the rounds at Colts headquarters saying his goodbyes.

As reported:

According to one source, Dungy explained that he has talked it over with his family and they believed this was the proper time to step down, while the Colts' nucleus was still intact.

Dungy, one of the NFL’s most respected coaches, has amassed an 87-27 (.667) record with the Colts over 7 seasons from 2002-2008, with one Super Bowl win (2006). Over his 13-year coaching career, Dungy has a 139-69 record (.668 winning percentage).
