In another busy day of signings, three prominent free-agents reached agreements on contracts.
- ESPN.com's John Clayton reports that Kurt Warner has re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals on a two-year, $23 million deal with $19 million in guaranteed money. "I love what we've been doing," Warner said. "I love what we've been building here." Under the terms of the deal, Warner will receive a $15 million signing bonus and $4 million base in each of the two seasons. Earlier reports stated that Warner would be willing to accept $1 million per year less if the team settled the ongoing contract feud with teammate Anquan Boldin, but that language was not included in the contract.
- The Cincinnati Bengals had a significant hole to fill at the wide receiver position with the departure of T.J. Houshmandzadeh to Seattle, and they hope that newly signed wideout Laveranues Coles will help do just that. Sources told ESPN.com senior writer John Clayton that Coles has agreed to a four-year, $28 million deal with the team after forgoing $6 million in guaranteed money by voiding the final year of his contract with the New York Jets.
- After surveying the free-agent landscape, linebacker Ray Lewis has opted to remain with the team that drafted him out of the University of Miami. ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports that Lewis agreed to a three-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens worth $20 million to $25 million. The deal has yet to be signed but should be finalized in the next few days. "From beginning to end as a Raven. ... Wow! To be with the same team with the same fans for an entire career, that doesn't happen in the NFL," Lewis said. "I don't think an athlete can have a greater legacy than to be able to stay in one place for an entire career." The 13-year veteran team leader was thought to be looking for the highest dollar figure he could find, but did not receive the type of interest from other teams he was expecting.
