Multiple sources are reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles have acquired stand-out Buffalo Bills left tackle Jason Peters, according to ESPN.com. Peters has agreed to a four-year extension worth $53 million that will pay him $11 million per year, and with two years remaining on his Bills contract, Peters will make a total of $60 million over the next six years. He was fined $600,000 after missing mandatory mini-camp along with training camp in a contract dispute with the Bills last year, and did not receive a new deal. In return for Peters, Buffalo will receive a first-round pick (28th selection overall), a fourth-round pick in next weekend's draft, and a sixth-round pick in 2010. The Eagles still have the 21st overall pick and 12 picks total in the draft. At 6-foot-4 and 328 pounds, the 2-time Pro Bowler Peters just completed his sixth season and is scheduled to make $3.375 million in 2009. Peters was an un-drafted tight end out of Arkansas and switched to the offensive line, starting 10 games at right tackle his rookie season. He moved over to the left side the following year and evolved into arguably the best left tackle in the NFL. The Bills are coming off their third straight 7-9 season. The deal gives Buffalo three of the first 42 selections in the draft, including the 11th overall pick.
